April 17-20, 2014 Khabarovsk hosted the 8th international specialised exhibition Tekhnodrev Far East which traditionally featured technologies, machines, equipment and tools for logging, bioenergy, woodworking and furniture industry. The 8th international specialised exhibition Tekhnodrev Far East served as a highly efficient business platform for further development of forest and woodworking industry of the Far Eastern Federal District, convincingly proving to be a key forestry event in this region of Russia.
The official opening ceremony was attended by: V.A. Kovalev, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources of Khabarovsk Krai; A.I. The exposition was sprawled over two venues: the exhibition hall of Track-and-Field Arena of the V.I.Lenin Stadium hosted the large exposition of equipment, machines and tools for woodworking, logging, sawmilling, furniture production, manufacturing and combustion of biofuel and wooden construction; at the open-air venue exhibitors demonstrated the work of logging machines, lathes, sawmills and other woodworking equipment.

For many companies it became a tradition to display their new products and equipment at TEKHNODREV Far East exhibition. The following novelties were showcased at the exhibition: the recent John Deere logging and road machinery by Daltimbermash, mulching equipment and machines of Swedish forestry engineering brands Bracke Forest and Vimekot by Ecowood, PrimeTech multi-purpose track-laying vehicles, wide range of Komatsu (Valmet) logging machines by Lestechconsulting, sawing lines for woodworking enterprises of various scales, including Storti S.P.A. machinery for SMEs, WaterBlast waterjet equipment and updated line of Delta v-belts by Gates (USA) etc.
The visitors of TEKHNODREV Far East took part in the workshop on SAMET furniture fittings organised by Graviton. The company also showcased recent woodworking equipment: milling machines, turning lathes, surfacing machines, cross cut saws and other machines for woodworking and furniture production.
Tekhnodrev Far East exhibition hosted more than 2 300 specialists from forestry enterprises of Khabarovsk Krai, Primorsk Krai, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Amur Region, Magadan Region, Sakhalin Region, Moscow Region, Jewish Autonomous Region, Sakha Republic and other.
In order to maximise audience coverage and attract more trade visitors to the exhibition, April 17-20, 2014 TEKHNODREV Far East exhibition was held along with the Far East International Forestry Congress ‘Far East Forestry Development Strategy’. 140 delegates from 12 regions participated in the Congress.
The Congress programme featured the following events: plenary session – business sections ‘Far East Forestry Development’ and ‘Competitive advantages, prospects and development trends of the Far East forestry’, Euro-Asian bioenergy conference: ‘Bioenergy. Alternative energy development prospects’, section ‘Far East woodworking industry development – regional, federal, international efficient procurements and sales in the framework of Teclot.com - the Unified Euro-Asian Electronic Trading Platform (partner of TenderPro Company Group)’, round tables: ‘Harvesting, saw-milling and woodworking in the Far East. Infrastructure development’, ‘Timber record and turnover. Forest policy and certification’, ‘Sustainable forest exploitation. Reforestation, regional specificity of forest management’ and ‘Automated information systems as integral part of present-day forestry’.
All Congress participants noted high importance and relevance of this most large-scale trade show of the Far East forestry, as well as its high organisational level.
The highlight of TEKHNODREV Far East exhibition was a friendly mini football match between forestry enterprises under the slogan ‘Healthy nation, powerful country’. The following teams took part in the match: Ministry of Natural Resources of the Khabarovsk Krai, Government of the Khabarovsk Krai, TEKHSERVIS-KHABAROVSK, DMI FOREST, Inter grupp, RFP GROUP and teams of other forestry companies. The first winner of the match was the team of Khabarovsk International Fair, followed by Inter grupp team. The third was RFP GROUP team.
FORESTEC Interactive Forestry Portal participated as Information partner of TEKHNODREV Far East exhibition. FORESTEC portal regularly featured various analytical materials on the Far East forestry in the framework of the online press-centre, as well as interviews with the heads of exhibiting companies, expert opinions and other relevant and useful information.
